Math Mysteries are now BOOM CARDS and after solving the mystery, kids will answer comprehension questions about the story (to make sure the kids actually READ, and not just answer the math questions.)
This math mystery is a fun way for 3rd graders to practice doing a variety of word problems in a unique way.
Kids just start reading at the beginning of the book, solve the problems, and go where the book tells them to go! If they get the wrong answer, they will have a 'stopper' that will tell them to go back to where they were working, and TRY AGAIN! After finding the answers to the math problems, kids will answer comprehension questions about the story (to make sure the kids actually READ, and not just answer the math questions.)
This mystery includes these skills:
*telling time/elapsed time with am and pm
*expanded form from word form to millions
*measurement with conversions (feet/yards/inches)
*division
*multiplication and addition (multiple step problems)
*patterns in numbers
*measurements to 1/4-not starting at 0

There are a total of 10 word problems included in this mini math mystery, as well as 7 comprehension questions.
