ABOUT ME

I'm so glad you're checking out Rockin Teacher Materials and how they can help your students in a fun and engaging way! I'm Hilary, and as a retired elementary school teacher, I know first-hand the daily pressures of being a classroom teacher. Whether you need hands-on activities for learning to read, math activities, or digital activities, you've come to the right place. You've got a lot on your plate, and Rockin Teacher Materials is here to help.

My Background

I am the mother/step-mother to 7 sons and 1 daughter and grandmother to 6 grandsons and 4 granddaughters. (This is the newest addition.) I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Butler University and my masters from Indiana Wesleyan University. I have taught grades K, 1, 2, 3, and 3rd grade high ability in my 34 years of teaching. I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoy creating fun and engaging learning activities for the classroom.

My Teaching Style

I love to get students up, moving, and involved in their learning. It's my goal to get them excited about learning with projects and authentic learning whenever possible, while still ensuring they have the basic skills needed to succeed. Teaching in a hands-on way to keep students engaged in their learning is very important to me...and I want them to have fun along the way! I enjoy watching the student growth that occurs throughout the school year and instilling the feeling that students can do whatever they put their minds to and that the sky is the limit! I feel like it's a win if kids come out of my classroom as kind citizens and with the love of learning and school!

Inspire your students!

Hello!
My name is Hilary Lewis. I am a retired teacher who loved teaching my students and miss them terribly. I love spending time with my grandchildren now. They are sweeties and they make me laugh daily!
I have taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and 3rd grade high ability in my 34 years of teaching.
When I was in the classroom, I never enjoyed doing the same things over and over again. That is why I began creating new activities to use in my classroom. I feel so lucky to be able to share some of my creations with others.
I'd love to hear from you! If you ever have ideas for me or need to contact me, you can email me at hilary35t@gmail.com.
