I used to stress about organizing stations for my young learners, but no more! These station rotation cards are the perfect way to allow students to choose their stations for the day and they will allow you to make sure they complete all the stations throughout the week.
Students start the week with 10 cards with the names of the various stations on them. I use 2 of each kind usually. Some of the stations I use are:
- word work
- read by myself
- read with someone
- listen to books/device
- writing
The students are also scheduled to have reading groups with me throughout the week as well. Watch the preview video to see how it is organized. I think it will give you a good idea of how to organize station choices in your classroom.
- There is also a page to help students keep track of the activities they have completed for Literacy Stations. It is simple and easy to use for kids and helps them plan and organize their classroom activities.
- One way I have used this is: I print enough copies for the entire class in color. I then put the reference page into a heavy-duty sheet protector that goes into a durable, plastic folder for each child. They then use a dry-erase marker to check off their station.
I hope this helps the organization of stations in your classroom!
